Union Food Processing Minister Mrs Harsimrat Kaur Badal today inaugurated Rural Sewa Kendras in village Deon, Sivya, Mehma Sarja, Bhokhra, Nathupura, Kalyan Sukha, Jassi Pao Wali, Naruana, Ghuddha, Rai ke Kalan and Kaljhrani in the Bathinda District in the presence MLA Darshan Singh Kotfatta and Ex. MP Paramjit Kaur Gulshan.Mrs Badal disclosing about the new initiative of the Punjab Government to provide citizen services at their doorsteps said that now people need not to go to government offices to get their work done. She said that in Bathinda district 123 Sewa Kendras are established out of which 34 are in urban area and 89 are established in rural area.She said that with the establishment Sewa Kendras hassle free timely services will be provided to its citizens. ‘Punjab Governments model of Sewa Kendras is being appreciated by the Centre Government and some states have even shown interest to adopt this model.
Mrs Badal said that 77 citizen services will be provided through these Sewa Kendras which include Birth Certificates, Pensions old age, widow and Handicapped, Farmer Licenses for Seeds, Pesticides and Fertilisers, ID Cards for handicapped/senior citizens, Arms licences, Cast Certificates, Copies of Revenue record, attestation of documents, Marriage registration, residential, rural and border area certificates etc.She further said that services to 4-5 villages will be provided by one Sewa Kendra in a time bound manner. While addressing a gathering at village Jassi Pao Wali Union Minister gave a call to the people to eradicate social evils to build a healthy society. She also distributed Sewing Machines to 122 girls under Nani Chhan campaign.Others prominent present on the occasion included MLA Darshan Singh Kotfatta, EX MP Paramjit kaur Gulshan, DC Dr. Basant Garg, S. Balkar Singh Brar , Dr. Om Parkash Sharma and other political and social personalities of the area.
