APD’s final statement a crude jock: NC, Congress, others

The frontline mainstream opposition parties National Conference, Congress, PDF and CPI (M) have equivocally slammed both the central government and Mehbooba led PDP-BJP coalition government for undertaking what they called “a futile exercise” by sending an All Party Delegation for political engagement in Kashmir, the parties have in separate statements termed visit of All Party Delegation a crude jock which has belied the expectations of the people of Kashmir. Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah criticised the resolution as a "tame and sterile appeal." He also tweeted, "I'm struggling to find a single achievement that the all party delegation can lay claim to after visiting J&K. Nothing comes to mind as yet!"When contacted JKPCC Ghulam Ahmad Mir told KNS the statement issued after a meeting of the All Party Delegation held under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh makes it crystal clear that neither the Central Government and Nor the Mehbooba led PDP-BJP government is serious address the political and security concerns of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

He said “the visit of All Party Delegation was just a Drama played just hoodwink the people of the State stating that there is not mention of even a single confidence building measure in the final statement of All Party Delegation led by Home Minister Rajnath Singh Mir said the central government woke up from deep slumber only when the main opposition parties both at the Centre and in State mounted extra pressure on both the central and the state government over the continuing cycle of civilian deaths in Kashmir.Terming the final statement of All Party Delegation just a crude jock Peoples Democratic Front chairman and MLA Khan Sahib Hakim Mohammad Yasin told KNS “The final statement of All Party Delegation issued in Delhi today shows the non seriousness of both the central and the State government on political resolution of Jammu and Kashmir. He said unless and until doors of political engagement are not opened the separatists’ peace won’t return to troubled Jammu and Kashmir State.CPI (M) senior leader and MLA Kulgam, M Y Tarigami told KNS it is a welcome step but follow up action must be initiated without any further delay. He said CPI (M) reiterates its demand that a committee of senior parliamentarians must be mandated with this job of holding sustain dialogue with all stakeholders. Tarigami said, “The rumors that security of separatist leaders will be reviewed and other such measures will be unproductive and don’t help in creative and environment of confidence for a purposeful dialogue. Such rumors must be put on end to.” (KNS)
