Minister for Health and Medical Education Mr. Bali Bhagat Tuesday said that the government is providing latest sports infrastructural facilities across the state especially rural areas so that requisite facilities are made available to youth and a boost is given to the   sports related activities.This was stated by the Minister at the concluding function of South Asian Amateur Chess championship, 2016 organized by the All J&K Chess Association sponsored by J&K State Sports Council at Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust, Jammu.Five hundred players from different parts of the country, Nepal and Bangladesh participated in this 6-days mega event.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bali highlighted various reformative steps being taken by the government for providing all necessary sports facilities to the players of the state. Government has also taken various initiatives to promote rural conventional sports in the state, added the Minister.Earlier, the Minister distributed the cash prize and trophies among the winners and runner ups. Winners Raghav Srivathsav V from Telangana and Suresh P.K of Kerala were given cash prize of Rs 2 lakh and 1,25000 respectively and  Rs. 1 lakh was given to Srivathsav Mithilesh Kumar of Delhi as runner up.
