Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik on Monday said that 70 years of illegal occupation and denying people of Jammu Kashmir their democratic right of self-determination and birth right of freedom is enough proof of anti-democratic attitude of India. In a statement issued to KNS, JKLF spokesman while quoting JKLF chief, as saying that “Rulers who have and are killing innocent Kashmiris and inflicting every kind of hardship on common people of Kashmir, for demanding the fulfillment of pledges made to them by erstwhile Indian leaders, parliament and the international community, need to rethink their humanity claims.”He said that Jammu Kashmir is not integral part of any nation; this is an internationally recognized issue that needs a resolution.Malik who was taken into custody by police on 8th July 2016 and is these days languishing in police station Humhama said that Jammu Kashmir is an internationally recognized issue and anybody claiming it to be the integral part of any nation is only befooling himself and living in a state of denial and neglect. He said that on one hand Indian home minister is talking about his open doors and windows for everyone who wants to talk on Jammu Kashmir but on the other hand he is claiming that Kashmir is and will remain as India’s integral part. “If it is so then what are talks and negotiations’ for, asked Yasin Malik. He said that Kashmir is not any nation’s integral part but an internationally accepted disputed territory and people of Jammu Kashmir have been striving and rendering sacrifices from last 70 years for its peaceful resolution,” he said.
On Indian Home Minster’s assertions that resistance leaders by refusing to talk to Indian parliamentarians have shown that they don’t believe in humanity and democracy, Malik said seventy years of illegal occupation and denying millions of people their democratic right to self-determination and birth right of freedom is enough proof of anti-democratic attitude of India. “Are we anti-democracy or those whose are from last 70 years denying us the democratic right to choose our future that was pledged to us by their own erstwhile parliament, erstwhile leaders like Jawahar Lal Nehru and the international community,” asked Malik. He said that “even the so-called instrument of accession” that Indian claims to hold provides this democratic right to us but it is India that is suppressing our voices that too in the name of being so-called largest democracy.Malik said that another ‘wonder’ of this very Indian so-called democracy is that it has allowed them to cage every voice of dissent in Jammu Kashmir and this also should be taken into account that the offered meetings with Indian parliament members about whom Indian home minister is talking about and has himself said that were in ‘personal capacity’ and not official, were also to be held inside these cages with imprisoned leaders.About humanity comment of Rajnath Singh, Malik said that Kashmiris need no sermons about humanity as humanity and human values are in the very DNA of Kashmiris. “We have shown our humanity time and again but it is the Indian forces who have and are tarnishing the very ethos of humanity by killing innocents, blinding and injuring young men and women, by harassing and arresting people and torturing and vandalizing whole localities in Kashmir,” he said.
JKLF chief said that last seventy years of oppression, suppression and illegal military occupation are a glaring example of defacement of humanity in Jammu Kashmir by India and people who talk of humanity and human values need to introspect themselves and see how they have ruined four generations of Kashmiris and how they are still doing this inhumanity to the people of Jammu Kashmir. Malik condemned the killing of yet another youth Basit Ahmad at Kund and the showering of bullets and pellets and injuring more than 600 people yesterday which included two photojournalists including Zuhaib Maqbool and Muzamail Matoo.Yasin termed these acts of state sponsored violence as terrorism and condemned these acts strongly.Malik said that truth and reality always remain and it is the falsehood that has to perish and the reality is that Jammu Kashmir is a dispute and without resolving this dispute with the active participation of all concerned parties including the principle party, that is the ‘people of Jammu Kashmir’ peace, tranquility, prosperity and stability of our region and the whole south Asia cannot be achieved and guaranteed.Meanwhile JKLF Zonal organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri participated in a public Jalsa held under the banner of united resistance leadership at Tulbagh Noorbagh and addressed the mammoth gathering there. In his address he paid tributes to recent martyrs and especially 12 year old martyr Danish Sultan who embraced martyrdom at Palpora Srinagar.Bashir Kashmiri also expressed solidarity with his bereaved family.
