Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Member Parliament today strongly condemned the alleged beating of a lady in a police station in district Mansa. She said that it was a deplorable incident and should be condemned by all. She said that the police has already suspended the erring constable and an inquiry has been ordered against SHO.
In a statement issued here today, Mrs. Badal said that onus of such incidents falls on indiscriminate transfers of police personals by Election Commission of India and its inaction on Shiromani Akali Dal’s complaint against Amarinder for inciting the people to violence. Mrs. Badal said that Chief Minister S Parkash Singh Badal already requested Election Commission that transfers of Police officials without taking the elected government into confidence, may have its bearing on law and order situation. As inMansa bothDC and SSpP had beentransferred by ECI recently.Mrs. Badal said that Shiromani Akali Dal had been campaigning against PPCC Chief Capt Amarinder Singh for his open inciting the people for violence with terms like ‘Katleaam, Putha Tanng diange’ but ECI has failed to rein him. He is doing at a time when emotions were already running very high. She said that the SAD-BJP government was fully committed to peaceful conduct Vidhan Sabha polls and would seek cooperation from all quarters in this regards.
