The pellet victims who are presently undergoing treatment in ward 7 and 8 of Srinagar’s SMHS hospital on Sunday staged a silent protest. They appealed United Nations Organization to hold plebiscite in Kashmir to provide an opportunity to the people of state for right to self-determination.Over a dozen of persons including men, women and children who received pellet injuries in forces action held the protest in ward 7 and 8 of SMHS.They were holding placards in the hands, which read: ‘Jab Tak Na Hogi Rai Shumari, Jung Humari Jari Hai, Go India Go Back’ and other slogans. One among the protesting pellet victims told KNS that they decided to staged a silent protest to convey a message to the members of All Party Delegation who are currently on two-day visit to Kashmir that “We are on roads to demand our birth right but the forces by using bullets and lethal weapons are killing and maiming us.”

The victim said that more than 70 people were killed while thousands were maimed by the forces during past 58 days of unrest. “India itself exposed its democracy by killing and maiming people of Kashmir,” he said. The victims said, “Until and unless the goal will not be achieved, our fight will continue.”Notably, more than 70 people were killed while thousands sustained injuries during the protests in the ongoing uprising that triggered after the killing of Hizb commander, Burhan Muzaffar Wani in a ‘gunfight’ in Bumdoora village of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on July 8.
