Eid arrangements finalized in Baramulla

Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla , Dr Nasir  Naqash  today chaired a meeting of officers to finalize the arrangements for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.The Deputy Commissioner directed the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department to ensure that there should be no shortcomings in the distribution of essential commodities of rice, sugar, and LPG that are already adequately stocked in the district. He also directed the concerned  to keep the ration stores and sale outlets open during holidays for the convenience of people, besies initiating strict action against profiteers and black-marketers.The Deputy Commissioner stressed upon the officers of PDD & PHE for providing uninterrupted electricity and drinking water supply to the people, besides ensuring proper street lighting. He directed Municipal Authorities to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness at all the places particularly at those places where congregation prayers would be offered on Eid. Special attention needs to be given to pre and post cleanliness on Eid ul Azha. 

The DDC asked the CMO to ensure that medicos and para-medicos attend the duty as per the roster, besides keep ambulance service in a state of readiness to meet any exigency during the festival. Directing the ARTO  to ensure special transport facilities to ferry the commuters, the Deputy Commissioner asked Animal and Sheep Husbandry, departments to keep Sheep, Goats and Poultry birds available on reasonable rates at all identified  sale centres so that the people do not face any inconvenience.  He directed the concerned Tehsildars ,SHO’s and Tehsil level officer of Sheep and Animal husbandry department  to make sure that  commodities and animals are sold on government rates.Giving brief account of  points identified  for sale of sacrificial animals and poultry birds, the meeting was informed that 13 points have been notified to buy sacrificial animals in view of Eid-ul-Azha in Baramulla District. 

In  Baramulla near Karipa Park, Sheep Complex Noorbagh, near Hospital Bagh-I-Islam and near Irrigation Quarters Khajabhag. In Sopore , these points would be at near Super bazaar, near River Edge Hotel and near Bugoo Arampora. In Rafiabad, these  points would be at near Sheep complex watergam, Rohama and Hadipora. In Uri SDO office Uri, in Pattan near Chinar Monuments,  in Kunzer near Town Hall, in Tangmarg near SDO office Tangmarg.The meeting was informed that on the eve of Eid ,the Animal Husbandry Department would set up sale outlets for sale of poultry chicken at 10 per cent discount at Sopore,  Baramulla,  kreeri, pattan and uri, besides dressed chicken will be available  at Baramulla and Sopore.  The Assistant Director Fisheries informed that trout would be available for sale at Baramulla and Sopore. Among others ADC, Joint Director Planning, ACR and other officers from  various departments were present during the meeting.
