Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah today chaired a meeting of officers to ensure that proper arrangements are well in place for the celebration of Eid-ul-Azha here at Dak Bunglow.ADDC, SE R&B, SDM Pahalgam and Dooru, Exens of PDD, PHE, Dy.CMO, Chief Animal/Sheep Husbandry Officer, Anantnag, AD Food, Deputy Director Fire and Emergency, Food Safety Officer, Executive Officers of Municipal Committee/Councils, Deputy Registrar Cooperatives, AD Fisheries, all Tehsildars and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.The availability of essential commodities including rice, atta, sugar and kerosene, transport arrangements, cleanliness of Mosques, streets and Eidgahs, ambulance services, uninterrupted power and water supply and repairs and renovation of roads were discussed threadbare in the meeting.Deputy Commissioner instructed AD Food to ensure the availability & distribution of essential commodities before Eid.Chief Medical Officer was asked to ensure round-the-clock duty of doctors and paramedical staff in the health institutions of the district.
Tehsildars were instructed to keep a close vigil on the stock and supply position and liaison with the CAPD to ensure that essentials are sold as per the statutory and reasonable rates.Chief Animal Husbandry Officer was directed to make sure that there is adequate stock of poultry birds is available in the district. For facilitating the public in general, District Sheep Husbandry Officer was instructed to ensure that adequate stocks of sacrificial animals are available. Besides, AD Fisheries was also directed to establish a stall on the eve of festival to make sure that adequate stock of fish is available to the people. It was decided that concerned departments shall establish their stalls at Sports Stadium Anantnag.Executive Officers of concerned municipalities were instructed to ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation around the centrally located mosques, streets and eidgahs. Besides, they were directed to get the street lights repaired at an earliest.PDD and PHE departments were instructed to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply during the festival. PHE authorities was directed to put in place water tanker services to those areas where there is scarcity of water. R&B was directed to repair roads and streets.The officers assured DDC that the necessary arrangements will be put in place in advance for the convenience of people.
