A meeting of officers of various departments was held at here today with District Development commissioner Baramulla Dr. Nasir Ahmad Naqash in chair.Discussing issues related to the harmful effects of poplar trees on the National Highway, the District Development commissioner directed the concerned officers to take effective steps and cut popular trees from both sides of the road so that human life and property is saved from any damage besides the HT (33KV) power line aside the road is also freed to provide better power supply to the people. He directed the concerned SDM’s and Tehsildars to have close vigil on encroachment of state land in their respective areas and initiate strict action against the violators. He said that the encroachments on state land will not be tolerated in the district.The meeting was attended by Superintending Engineer PDD, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, SDM Uri, SDM Pattan and other officers from line departments.
