The Government has mooted a plan to develop supplementary tourist attractions at halt points of upcoming Jammu ropeway project. The plan envisages constructing commercial cottages at Shahabad halt point, food courts, ampi-theater, Viewing Deck and other attractions at the Mahamaya halt point.This was disclosed at a meeting chaired by Minister of state for Tourism and Parks, Priya Sethi convened to review the progress on phase one of the Jammu Ropeway Project spanning from Mubarak Mandi to Bahu (Shahabad) via Mahamaya.During the meeting the Minister took detailed account of the proposed tourist infrastructure development plans at the ropeway halt points. She studied the plans for construction of commercial cottages at Shahabad, and other supplementary infrastructure at various halt points. She asked the Tourism Department and J&K State Cable Car Corporation Ltd to explore further possibilities to incorporate more tourism attraction activities in the plan.She said inclusion of more tourist attraction activities in the plan would provide the visiting tourists with an array of options while enjoying the ropeway ride.
