Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir (JeI) Saturday said that the chain of terrible excesses started by Indian forces after Burhan Wani got martyred, against peaceful protestors and public mobs in the valley is going on unabated. In a statement issued to KNS, Advocate Zahid Ali Spokesperson, JeI said that the sole purpose of these atrocities is curb the genuine voice of the people which they have been raising since 1947 for providing them their cherished right of self-determination as promised to them by government of India through UNO resolutions. To kill and injure innocent people have become a pastime for these unruly forces. He said that in addition to it, these forces raid villages and towns with iron rods and sticks in hands and destroy whatever comes in their way, break window and door pans and smash domestic tools and vehicles and beat inmates particularly youth ruthlessly. In such a terrifying incident on 25th August at about noon, a huge contingent of Indian forces entered Prichu mohalla of Pulwama well equipped with arms and sticks and after beating a number of innocent persons mercilessly, caused huge loss to the houses, house hold goods, kitchen ware, vehicles and other precious property and pelted stones upon the houses smashing glass pans. When people assembled to stage peaceful protests against this vandalism, forces fired tear gas shells, pellets and bullets upon them indiscriminately injuring a number of them.

Some women were also maltreated. In another incident, a mob of peaceful protestors was fired upon near village Haal Pulwama with bullets and pellets killing another innocent youth Shakeel Ahmad Ganaie of Chandpora Pulwama on the spot and critically injuring many others. The forces respond slogans with bullets and stone with pellets. Moreover another youth Shahnawaz Khan who was compelled by Indian forces to jump into the Jhelum when he was chased by forces at Sangam Bijbehara while he was peacefully protesting against the atrocities committed by Indian forces upon hapless Kashmiris. This inhumane act clearly depicts genocide plan of New-Delhi.JeI Jammu & Kashmir expressing great concern and anguish over the wild use of force against peaceful protests and genocide of oppressed Kashmiris, asks the world bodies to come forward for stopping these inhumane atrocities. Kashmiris are demonstrating peacefully only for safeguard of the basic human rights and demanding their basic and birth right of self-determination.Meanwhile a delegation of Jama’at led by Advocate Zahid Ali visited the bereaved family of 19 year Shaheed Amir Gul Wani of Ratnipora Pulwama to express solidarity and pay rich tributes to Shaheed. Later on the same delegation visited Prichu Pulwama to express sympathy with the people affected by the violence of forces and strongly condemned this inhumane action. (KNS)
