JKPCC Chief G A Mir paid rich tributes to Former Prime Minister of India Late Rajiv Gandhi on his 72nd Birth Anniversary today.He said the Nation has lost a great visionary and a tallest leader in the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi, under whose able leadership the Nation touched the new heights in respect of Education, Development, Computer Science and Agriculture.
He said Rajiv gave a new direction to the country and brought it at par with the fast developing countries in the world.
The implementation of Panchayati Raj and introduction of Computer Science in the Country were among the great and historical steps taken by Rajiv Gandhi for the overall development of the Country and today India is one among the powerful countries of the world, he said.
Mir said the sacrifices made by Gandhi Family shall continue to inspire the generations besides leading them at the Path of development and prosperity. Meanwhile, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee today celebrated 72nd Birth Anniversary of Former Prime Minister Late Rajiv Gandhi.In this connection JKPCC held a meeting of party leaders in Srinagar, which was presided over by Party Spokesperson.
On this occasion Congress Leaders paid floral tributes to Former Prime Minister and remembered the sacrifices he made for the integrity of the Country.Recalling the services rendered by Rajiv for the Nation. Congress leaders termed him a symbol of development and honesty, they said it is because of the efforts of Rajiv Gandhi that Nation touched the new heights in Education, Computer Science, Agriculture, Science technology, besides overall development of the people especially those living in far-flung areas. Introduction of Computer science in the Country was one of the great achievements of Former Prime Minister, which gave a new direction to the Nation to move towards prosperity and development.
This revolutionary step was a remarkable decision taken by Rajiv Gandhi. The Implementation of Panchayati Raj in the country was also one of the historical achievement of Rajiv Gandhi, who remained concerned for the wellbeing of the people of the country and wanted them to decide their development from grass roots level themselves thereby bringing the development at their door steps.They said the Nation would remain indebted to Rajiv for the efforts he had made towards strengthen the people from grass roots level. A great leader with great political wisdom never compromised on his stated position of maintaining Unity and communal harmony in the country and remained committed to the cause of uniting and serving every section of the country, they said.
