70th Independence Day : I-Day celebrated at JK House Delhi

The Independence Day was celebrated with lot of enthusiasm and patriotic fervor at JK House 5-Prithvi Raj Road here today. Principal Resident Commissioner, Rakesh Kumar Gupta unfurled the National Flag. A contingent of Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police presented the Guard of Honour on the occasion.The function was attended by all the officers and officials of Jammu and Kashmir State, posted at New Delhi.Greeting the participants on this auspicious occasion, the Principal Resident Commissioner said that this is the event to remember the martyrs and Freedom Fighters who sacrificed their lives to achieve the goal of freedom from the British Rulers. He said it is due to the supreme sacrifices of so many great leaders and freedom heroes, we are enjoying the fruits of freedom in free India adding that to pay homage and tribute to freedom fighters it is duty and moral responsibility of youngsters of the country to use this independence with responsibility and utmost honesty so that they can carry the freedom for the happy future.Later, Mr. Gupta interacted with the officers and officials of the JK House and gave special gifts and commendation certificates to the participants.
