BJP National Secretary Tarun Chugh has slammed Capt Amarinder Singh for his irresponsible statement regarding an attack on RSS leader Brig (Retd) Jagdish Gagneja. Condemning Amarinder's statement wherein he had said that Akali Dal could be behind the attack on RSS leader, Chugh said that the statement shows former chief minister's lust for power and frustration as the Congress leader was himself sure that his party was not coming to power.Chugh alleged that a frustrated Congress was conspiring to play with fire again and trying to create division between Hindus and Sikhs living peacefully in the state. The BJP leader said that people of the state know that SAD-BJP combine always vouch for peace and communal harmony among the different communities of the state while Congress even didn't hesitate in supporting and sponsoring terrorism just for the sake of power.
All Punjabis know how a divided Congress provided political patronage to Khalistan supporters. Chugh reminded Capt Amarinder Singh of 'Sarbat Khalsa' held last year at village Chaba which was openly supported by Congress leaders - former MLA Ramanjit Singh Sikki, Lalli Majithia, Harminder Gill - who had not only brought their men to the Sikh congregation but also had a role in drafting anti-national resolutions.Blaming Amarinder for again polluting the peaceful atmosphere of the state, Chugh said, the Congress leader, by stating that Akalis were among the conspirators of the attack on RSS leader, was trying to create a rift between Hindus and Sikhs just gain some political brownie points.Chugh advised Capt Amarinder that he should act responsibly and refrain from issuing irresponsible statements which could vitiate the atmosphere in the state.
