Department of Animal Husbandry Rajouri in collaboration with Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry (SKUAST-J) R S Pura today conducted a Treatment cum Awareness camp here at Sialsui area of Tehsil Kalakote.The main aim of the camp was to make the farmers aware regarding area specific diseases like Phosphorus deficiency locally known as SOKRA, which reduces the productive and reproductive efficiency of cattle.Dr M. S. Badwal (Associate Dean) gave a detailed deliberation regarding common surgical infections in animals and their management. He assured the farmers of all types of surgical support from the University in forthcoming surgical camps to be organized by the Animal Husbandry department.
Dr Rajiv Singh, HOD Medicine (FVSc & AH) has already conducted a detailed research on phosphorus deficiency in hilly areas of Rajouri and Poonch and devised a special mineral pack in the shape of mineral block for the treatment of the disease. A number of mineral bricks were distributed among the farmers.Dr Utsav (Prof. Gyanaecology) gave a detailed deliberation on Repeat Breeding & Infertility.Dr Mohammad Ismail (CAHO Rajouri) assured to extend all the technical support with respect to treatment and Prophylaxis of livestock of the poor and needy farmers of the area. He also assured to introduce Frozen Semen Technology in the hilly areas of Tehsil Kalakote.Dr. Vikas Khajuria VAS Panihar, Dr Sajad Ahmad Darzi VAS Chingus, & Dr. Satinder paul VAS Gambhir Brahmna from Department of Animal Husbandry beside prominent citizens of the area were also present on the occasion.
