AHD holds health camp for Mules, Ponies at Ramban

Animal Husbandry Department today organised a special health camp for Mules and Ponies here at Kahubagh, Ramban and also gave tips to the owners on precautions and care to keep away various types of diseases common in this type of livestock.Mule owners from adjoining areas and  villages including Serri, Aaidwa, Failtee, Tatarsoo, Digdol, Maitra, Chndrog, Pernote etc, who earn their livelihood by transportation of Sand, Bajri and other commodities, participated in the camp along with their animals.An informative lecture regarding proper management, nutrition & health care of Mules & Ponies was delivered by Disease Investigation Officer, while Veterinary Assistant Surgeon, Ramban examined the animals for various ailments. Necessary treatment with precautions was also advised for the animals.

Free dosing of Fendendazole (1.5 gm) tablets, liver tonic injections etc. were also provided to the mule owners.he Panchayat representatives present on the occasion also highlighted various demands and sought restoration of the Pony/ Mule pathways in hilly areas which have shrunk with the passage of time. They also demanded reconstruction and restoration of drinking water sources for animals in these areas.Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Ramban Dr. Ramesh Razdan thanked all the participants, especially experts from Indian Army for attending the camp and providing all the facilities to the mule owners.
