Parkash Singh Badal Rules Out Any Differences Between Alliance Partners On Law And Order

Ruling out any differences on the law & order situation between the alliance partners, the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said that the SAD-BJP was on the same page to ensure peace, communal harmony and brotherhood in the state as it was their sacred duty and the top most priority. Talking to the media persons on the sidelines of his Sangat Darshan program in Hoshiarpur Assembly segment, the Chief Minister said that the ties of SAD-BJP are absolutely cordial and everlasting. He reiterated that there was hardly any difference of opinion on the issue of law and order and both the allies were committed to maintain the law and order situation in the state at every cost. Referring to an attack on the life of RSS Punjab Deputy Chief Mr. Jagdish Gagneja, Mr. Badal asked the people to beware of such nefarious designs and conspiracies hatched by the anti-social elements with the sole motive to create panic and divide the people on sectarian lines. He said that state police was pro-actively working day in, day out to nab the culprits so that the entire conspiracy could be exposed and the true picture could be brought before the public. 

Asked to comment on the electoral prospects of AAP, the Chief Minister said that its National Convener Arvind Kejriwal was living in fool’s paradise because none could even remotely match our popularity on the basis of development and welfare of all sections of the society. He said SAD-BJP alliance solely believed in development where as both Congress and AAP were eying on capturing power to pursue their vested interests. Mr. Badal said that Chief PPCC Amarinder Singh had been boasting of becoming Chief Minister during last assembly polls but he had to eventually lick the dust because his party had neither any vision nor agenda for the development and prosperity of the state. He categorically said that the day was not very far of when both the AAP and Congress would be wiped out from state’s electoral scene.Replying to query related to spurt in the incidents of Gang wars in the state, Mr. Badal said the state government was fully sensitized to this problem and strict action was being taken against such criminal elements. He made his firm resolve that it was the sincere endeavor of the state government to ensure security of the life and property of the people at all costs. He said Punjab’s state was far better in maintaining law & order situation as compare to rest of states in the country as the crime rate here was the lowest so far.

Responding to the issue raised by local residents to take strict action against the wine contractors running illegal liquor vends, the Chief Minister directed the SSP Hoshiarpur to immediately nab such unscrupulous contractors and their licenses should be cancelled forthwith.The Chief Minister announced a development grant of Rs. 49 crore for the roads, water supply, sewerage and street lighting in the Hoshiarpur city.On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Sangat Darshan was a flagship program of the state, whose sole motive was to give boost to development across the state by virtually bringing the government at the doorsteps of people. Mr. Badal further said that besides acting as a catalyst for redressing the grievances of people, the Sangat Darshan programs were also helpful for the state government to adjudge the working of officers of the various departments.The Chief Minister was accompanied by his Advisor and former Minister Mr Tikshan Sud, MLA Jathedar Surinder Singh Bhullewal Rathan, his Joint Special Principal Secretary Mr. Kumar Amit, Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Anandita Mitra and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr KS Chahal.
