Bali Bhagat calls for expeditious completion of on-going health projects

Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat has called upon the executing agencies associated with the construction of various on-going health projects in the State to speed up the pace of work to complete the projects within a stipulated time frame.While reviewing the progress of various on-going health projects across the State at a meeting held here today, the Minister directed the concerned to improve the monitoring mechanism to ensure quality of works strictly as per the specifications. He stressed the need for a coordinated approach to remove the bottlenecks, if any, coming in the way of execution.Minister of State for Health & Medical Education, Asiea Naqash was also present in the meeting.Expressing concern over the inordinate delay in the completion of some important projects due to various reasons, Mr. Bhagat said that the concerned agencies must make serious efforts to accomplish these in a time bound manner. 

Issues related to the availability of funds, according of Administrative Approvals, acquisition of land etc were also discussed in detail. He directed prioritizing the projects as per the availability of funds so that these are completed in time and made operational for public use.It was informed in the meeting that presently there are 98 projects, including 14 District Hospitals, 53 Sub-District Hospitals and 31 Primary Health Centres are under execution in the State and at different stages of completion.Secretary Health & Medical Education, Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, Managing Director, J&K Police Housing Corporation, A.K. Choudhary, Managing Director, J&K Housing Board, Ms. Vipra Bal, Managing Director, JKPCC, Daleep Thussu, Superintending Engineer, R&B, Nisar Ahmed Bhat and other officers were present in the meeting.
