Condemning the attack on senior leader of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) Brig. Jagdish Gagneja, who was shot at in Jalandhar on Saturday night, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today demanded impartial probe by the sitting judge of High Court in the fierce attack on Gagneja. In a joint statement today AAP’s National Spokesman Sanjay Singh and Chairman of Campaign Committee and MP Bhagwant Mann said that by the fierce attack on RSS leader, law & order situation in Punjab is badly exposed and people are forced to live under threat as police failed to provide them any sense of security. “Neither any religious granth is safe in Punjab nor any religious preacher, which could be evident from the repeated incidents of sacrilege and attack on religious leaders”, AAP leaders claimed. “Although, we may have ideological differences with RSS but such types of attacks on any person is highly condemnable”, AAP leaders said while smelling a deep conspiracy behind attack on the RSS leader to disturb the communal harmony and peace of the border state.

“There is a dire need of impartial probe by the sitting judge of High Court, as Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted to probe the attack is expected to meet the same fate, which was met by earlier SITs to probe important cases like sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib at Bergadi”, Sanjay Singh said. Law & order situation in Punjab has deteriorated so low that no significant cases like murder of Mata Chand Kaur of Namdhari Sect, fierce attack on Sant Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale and missing of Swami Krishna Nand under mysterious circumstances could not be solved so far, Bhagwant Mann said. What can be a bigger failure than this that in spite of frequent incidents of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib, nobody could be arrested by the Police, Mann said adding that like in the case of Bargadi’s sacrilege case in which two innocent Sikh youth were arrested and tortured, in Quran Sharif’s sacrilege case too, innocent AAP MLA Naresh Yadav was falsely implicated by Akalis.
