Horticulture Department Udhampur today organised an awareness camps for local farmers here at village Debreh.The camp held under the supervision of Chief Horticulture Officer Udhampur Mr. Chaman Lal Sharma was attended by around 70 orchardists of the area including women.Resource persons of the department briefed the gathering about the departmental schemes, new techniques and stressed on the production of Organic Fruits by adoption of Organic Farming in their orchards.They advised the farmers to establish vermin compost units, adopt Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) and integrated pest management (IPM) practices in their fields. Department also distributed fruit and vegetable plants among the farmers.Among others present were Mr. Salil Kumar Gupta DLSMS ( Entomology) Mr. Brij Vallabh Gupta DLSMS (Plant Pathology) Mr. Rajesh Dhar District Horticulture Officer Udhampur Mr. Vinod Wanchoo Horticulture Development Officer Udhampur and large number of farmers of the area and prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
