Div Com finalizes arrangements for Civil Services Prelims, 2016

Divisional Commissioner, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, today held a detailed meeting with police and district administration besides venue supervisors to finalize arrangements regarding conduct of Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination scheduled to be held on 7th of August 2016 (Sunday) at Jammu centre.The meeting was attended by IGP Jammu, Danish Rana, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Arun Manhas, Senior Superintendent Post Office, SE PHE Urban Circle and Supervisors of 14 venues.Instructions with regard to frisking of candidates with the help of male and female police personnel, providing of scribes for visually handicapped, seating arrangements, dispatch of examination material, receipt and opening of question papers, provision of electricity, water supply and cleanliness of venue / examination halls were given to the concerned officers.The Divisional Commissioner instructed that no candidate be allowed to enter the examination hall after 10 minutes of commencement of the examination.  The candidates in this regard have already been informed by the UPSC to be present at the venue well in time so that they do not miss the exam. 

The Divisional Commissioner emphatically stated that no candidate should be allowed to enter the examination premises with bags, mobile phones, pagers, any other electronic equipment capable of being used as communication devices, lighters/match boxes and valuables or costly items . Any infringement of these instructions will entail disciplinary action including ban from future examinations.As per the new guidelines passed by UPSC, the venue supervisors were instructed by the Divisional Commissioner to capture the number of candidates per session alongwith confirming receipt of OMR sheets, attendance lists via SMS mode to the dedicated number provided by the UPSC. Divisional Commissioner further directed PDD and  PHE departments to ensure uninterrupted electricity and water supply to the venue centres whereas the venue supervisors were asked to ensure proper illumination, seating arrangement and the  venues facing inundation must ensure that candidates  do not face any inconvenience.
