When people often talk about festive clothing, the fear of wearing bulky lehengas and hefty kurtas haunts them. To break the monotonous ethnic-wear rule, it's time to give your wardrobe a festive makeover.Tanvi Malik, Co-founder of online shopping store FabAlley.

com, suggests how:

* Give your traditional look an edge with classic silk tops and skirts this season. Also add classy peplums and crop tops and inject some cool festive vibes by marrying modern and traditional styles.

* Don a solid coloured crop top with a printed skirt and complete the look with a statement neck piece.

* You can also play with darker, bolder colours on florals by wearing a printed crop top and a navy blooms silk maxi skirt. Club it with a gold bracelet and a red pout to make heads turn at your next festive gathering.

* Be it festivals or weddings, don't ditch the traditional attire completely. Spice up your festive dressing by playing with classy hues and chic silhouettes a little. Try out the ever stylish luxe silk tunics and pair them with trendy palazzos or cigarette pants.

* For an evening affair you could go with a teal silk maxi tunic with white cigarette pants and for a day affair you could try a red bloom silk maxi tunic with flared palazzo pants. Pull your hair into a high bun and team it with chandelier earrings.

* Take your festive dressing game to the next level with sophisticated and subtle printed dresses. Chic tunic dresses in cotton are just what you need this season. Pick up a floral maxi tunic, team it with chunky statement jewellery and add oodles of kohl to your eyes.

* Those who like to experiment with their look, try a handkerchief hem tunic dress in ikat prints. Club it with chandelier earrings and solid ankle strap heels.
