Create mass awareness about flagship programs of RDD: Abdul Haq to officers

Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice Abdul Haq Khan today stressed upon the officers to increase people to people contact to inform public about various flagship programs for employment generation.The Minister asked the officers to make use of the flagship programs of Rural Development to generate employment and creation of durable assets in rural areas of the state.Minister said this while reviewing the status of ongoing developmental activities in district Kupwara. The meeting was attended by MLA Kupwara Bashir Ahmad Dar, DC Kupwara Rajiv Ranjan, ADC Kupwara besides other officers of the Rural Development Department.He said the department plays an important role in the overall development of the state as majority of the people of the state live in rural areas. He said the department is aiming to provide 20 lakh man-days of work during the current fiscal while the department has registered 86168 job card holders in the district.

The Minister said the dream of the Chief Minister about Rural Development Department will come true only when all the flagship programs of the department are implemented in letter and spirit and all the stakeholders work in good spirit with dedication, cooperation and honesty.Abdul Haq asked the officers to work tirelessly on ground so that the schemes are implemented in letter and spirit on ground and right people are benefitted by these schemes.

Minister said the department aims to provide employment to the rural youth through MGNREGA besides creating durable assets in the villages.He said the launch of Himayat scheme under Rural Development Department, will help in addressing the challenge of unemployment in the state. He said Rs 1600 crore have been approved under Skill Development activities where-under 1.24 lakh educated unemployed youth would be provided skill training for placement in and outside state to earn their livelihood.The Minister directed the officers to monitor the attendance of their employees on daily basis so that the problems of the people are redressed at their doorstep.Several issues and problems of the employees were also discussed during the meeting.
