Governor Acharya Devvrat called on Minister of Railways Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu at New Delhi on Friday evening and discussed the modalities about the execution of various Railway projects in Himachal Pradesh so that tourism sector could be promoted in a big way.The Governor also apprised the Minister about the shortage of wheels in all coaches at Kalka railway station due to which number of coaches to Shimla had been reduced. He said that months of May and June were tourist seasons but due to the shortage of wheels at Kalka railway station, tourists were deprived of the facility of special holiday train. He urged the Minister to take appropriate action on the matter so that full coach could run from Kalka station to facilitate the passengers and tourism activities could be promoted in the State.The Minister assured that demands of the State would be considered sympathetically. He directed the top authorities of Northern railway to look into the matter of shortage of wheels immediately.
