The sleuths of Vigilance Bureau today nabbed a constable red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 5,000.Disclosing this official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that constable Mohammad Afzal posted as inquiry officer in E.O. Wing, Police Line, Sangrur was nabbed on the complaint of Jasmail Singh resident of Barnala. The complainant alleged that a lady Gursimrat Kaur wife of late Karminder Singh of Ludhiana has lodged a complaint against him (complainant) and his relatives. He alleged that this constable Mohammad Afzal was the inquiry officer in this case and he was demanding bribe of Rs. 7,000 from him to file this complaint in his favour. Finally the deal was struck at Rs. 5,000.Acting on the tip off provided by the complainant a trap was laid and the constable Mohammad Afzal was nabbed red handed while accepting the bribe from the complainant.
