Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh Sunday said that 3328 forces personnel and more than 2200 civilians were injured during the protests in the Valley.Giving figures of the injured persons during the current unrest in Kashmir, Rajnath Singh said that at least 2259 civilians were injured during the protests from past 16 days in Kashmir. “2228 police personnel 1100 CRPF personnel have also received injuries during the protests,” HM said.Singh who was on two-day visit to Kashmir to review the ongoing unrest in Kashmir today afternoon addressed a presser at Airport before leaving for New Delhi.However, the hospital authorities have earlier said that over 2649 civilians were been injured during the protests in Kashmir.

Singh said that six injured persons are being treated in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. “We will take injured to New Delhi in special flight, if necessary,” he said.He met with opposition mainstream political parties including National Conference, CPI (M), PDF and others while Congress and top trade bodies boycotted to attend the meeting with him.More than 48 civilians were killed while more than 100 civilians including children received pellet injuries in their eyes.The ongoing unrest erupted in Kashmir a day after the Hizb commander, Burhan Muzaffar Wani was killed in a ‘gunfight’ in Kokernag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on July 8.
