The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal has condemned Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Convenor Arvind Kejriwal for his foolish attempt to clean the already cleaned utensils at Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar during langar sewa. He said that the AAP leaders are completely ignorant about the religious norms and are a bunch of atheists which has no respect for any religion. Branding kejriwal as a past master in dramatics, S. Badal said that the AAP convenor is eyeing power in the state by misleading the people.Interacting with the media-persons here today on the occasion of launching of  new atta-dal scheme in the state, the Deputy Chief Minister said that Arvind Kejriwal had earlier also hurt the religious sentiments of the world Punjabi diaspora especially the Sikh community by demolishing ‘Piau Sahib’ at Gurudwara Sri Sisganj Sahib in Delhi and pasting the AAP symbol ‘broom’ on the photograph of Sri Durbar Sahib on a frivolous youth manifesto of AAP.Earlier, addressing a gathering, the Deputy Chief Minister while lambasting AAP said that Arvind Kejriwal is a habitual liar who has not lived up to even a single promise he made to the electorate before entering politics.

He further disclosed that the AAP MLA’s in Delhi are receiving the heftiest pay perks in the country whereas instead of ushering in development, the AAP government has ruined Delhi.Taking on PPCC Chief Captain Amarinder Singh, the Deputy Chief Minister said that during its 5 year rule in Punjab, the congress didn’t undertook even a single development measure. Commenting further on the state of affairs in Congress, S. Badal said that the situation has come to such a pass that many congress leaders are now contemplating deserting the sinking ship of the party because the Punjabi people have given a big thumbs down to congress.Touching the plank of development, he said that Punjab has witnessed rapid development only with the government formed under the leadership of S. Parkash Singh Badal. Throwing light on the development measures undertaken by the SAD-BJP Government during the previous 9 years, S. Badal said that the power, roads and infrastructural sectors have seen record progress and various welfare initiatives like- atta-dal scheme, free power, health insurance cards, free power worth 200 units to every SC household, free distribution of cycles to the girl students have raised the standard of living in the state to a considerable extent.

Terming the SAD-BJP government as the real & genuine representative of the people of Punjab, he appealed to the people to let the chain of prosperity and progress undisturbed by voting again for the SAD-BJP alliance in the 2017 assembly polls. He further elaborated that now, the center has BJP led and state has SAD-BJP alliance government which is proving handy in scripting new success stories with every passing day.Making an important announcement, S. Badal said that soon a new express road from New Delhi-Amritsar via Barnala-Moga would firmly establish Barnala including Malwa as the developmental hub.On the occasion, he commenced new atta-dal scheme and distributed blue cards to the beneficiaries and informed that 7 lakh more beneficiary families are being brought under the ambit of the scheme whereas 28 lakh families are already availing the benefits under the scheme. With this, the total number of beneficiaries under the scheme would reach 1.41 crore equivalent to half of the state’s population.Among others present on the occasion were Advisor to the Deputy Chief Minister, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Chairman District Planning Committee Rupinder Singh Sandhu, Vice-Chairman PEDA Kulwant Singh Kanta, District President of SAD (Urban) Sanjiv Shourie, District President of SAD (Rural) Paramjit Singh Khalsa, District President BJP Gurmeet Singh Bawa and other senior SAD-BJP leaders.
