The Kashmir pro-freedom leadership on Monday issued fresh protest calendar and extended shutdown with protests for four more days.According to a joint statement issued here, the Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and JKLF chairman Yasin Malik, said: “As such in continuation with the protest program on July 19th and 20th there will be a complete shutdown and July 20th will be observed as black day. On 21st July shutdown will continue till 2:00 pm…“Again there will be a complete shutdown on Friday, the 21st of July and post Friday prayers peaceful protest will be held in all mosques across the state.” The leaders said that the internalized propaganda by India with regard to the current situation in particular and the Kashmir dispute in general has blinded them to extents that are unable to understand and accept the geniuses of people’s anger and self drive for freedom and justice.

Rejecting and ridiculing the Government of India’s statement in Indian parliament today with regard to the current killings and extreme repression in Kashmir by blaming pro-freedom leadership and others, the resistance leaders said that the current situation is “directly a consequence of India’s occupational and military approach to the Kashmir problem”.“Praising the courage and steadfastness of people in these most trying times, where all forms of expressing resentment and protest against the unabated killings and injuring  of innocent civilians have been curbed, right to assemble and mourn snatched, shoot to kill ordered, strict restrictions  enforced ,leadership caged ,media censored and gagged, any and every human and civil right violated, the options to protest and resist this extreme oppression and assault on people is  extremely limited,” the statement added.(GNS)
