Lodging strong protest to the decision of Akali Government to constitute Khalsa University on the land of heritage Khalsa college, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today declared that after formation of AAP’s government in Punjab, the proposal of Khalsa University would be scrapped.“Formation of Khalsa University is an attempt by Majithia family to grab the prestigious land of heritage Khalsa college. Earlier Majithias tried to convert Khalsa college into Heritage Hotel and now the route of Khalsa University was adopted by them to grab the land”, AAP’s Spokesman Sukhpal Singh Khaira alleged adding that at the fag end of their rule, Badals are trying their last attempt to destroy the Heritage Khalsa college. After ruining the youth (who are trapped in drug network) and farmers, who were forced to commit suicides by the wrong policies of Akalis, now they are bent upon to ruin the heritage Khalsa college of Punjab, which AAP would not allow at all, Khaira vowed.

Khaira alleged that as the Managing Committee of Khalsa college is headed by Majithias, who in the greed to grab the prestigious and prime chunk of land, designs and dreams of Khalsa University were mooted by Badals and Majithias. This greed of Majithias also fulfil the hidden agenda of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), which aims to ruin the heritage of Khalsa panth, which is evident from the fact that BJP’s senior leader Rajinder Mohan Chhina, who is honorary Secretary of the Khalsa College Management is also hand in gloves with Majithia to grab the land of heritage institution, Khaira alleged.Where is the need of another private university in Amritsar, when the prestigious Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) university is already situated next door?, Khaira quipped.
