2 Al-Badr Militants killed in Nowgam sector: Army

Army on Monday claimed to have killed two Al- Badar militants in an encounter at Nowgam sector in North Kashmirs Kupwara district.General Officer in Commanding (GOC) 90Div Lt. General  J.S Nain told news agency GNS that army deployed along LoC  Nowgam Sector of  Handawara enagage a militant group in a brief encounter after they tried to sneak into this side on intervening night of July 8/9.Following the gun fight both the militants while returning back received bullets and got killed, GOC said.GOC, said that the bodies are lying on the other side of fence and are visible.He said that when the militants were injured they left there weapons and baggages near the site and fled back.Latter large quantity of arms and ammunition besides baggage were recovered while conducting search operation post the gun fight, GOC said.On the searching thro ugh the bags, GOC said, some documents were recovered which revealed their identity as Mubashir of Leepa valley and Younis of Peshawar, both belonging to Al- Badr outfit.(GNS)
