Terming that some forces inimical to the peace and progress of the state were hell bent upon disturbing its hard earned peace, the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today exhorted the people of state to thwart any such attempt collectively.Addressing the gatherings during Sangat Darshan programme at Dirbha assembly segment here today, the Chief Minister said that Punjab had suffered a lot during black days but due to concerted efforts of the SAD-BJP alliance government state was put on the part of high growth trajectory. However, he said that unfortunately some forces vary to the development of the state were again trying to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere of the state. Mr. Badal said that the state government was duty-bound to prevent such forces from raising their ugly head.However, the Chief Minister urged the people of state to not fall prey to divisive agenda of such forces and foil their nefarious designs. He said that public support was the basic necessity to promote the ethos of communal harmony, peace and amity in the state. “I assure you that with your active support and cooperation we will not allow any force to push our state into turbulent times”, added Mr. Badal. 

Exhorting the people to be prepared for struggle to save the waters of the state, the Chief Minister said Congress and AAP were inimical to the interests of the state and were hell bent upon depriving the state from its water. He said that every Punjabi would have to struggle hard to save every single drop of water as if AAP and Congress succeed in their nefarious designs then no one could save Punjab from becoming a desert. Mr. Badal reminded the people that while Congress had signed various water agreements to deprive state of its waters, the AAP was now trying its level best to ensure that these agreements were implemented at the earliest. Apprising the people about the affidavit submitted by AAP government in Delhi on SYL issue, the Chief Minister said that Delhi government has said that the stand of Punjab government on this issue would disintegrate the country.The Chief Minister, while listing the major initiatives taken by the state government, said that due to concerted efforts of alliance government, Punjab was today only power surplus state in the country. He further said that under various pro-poor and pro-people social security schemes the alliance government has decided to double the pensions given to people. 

Mr. Badal said that the state government has started first of its kind scheme to provide interest free crop loans worth Rs 50000 to the farmers. He further said that in another historic decision it has been decided that all the farmers would be provided a health insurance cover of Rs.50,000 and an insurance of Rs.5 lac in case of accidental death or incapacitation of head of family.Later on interacting with the media persons, the Chief Minister said that the state government would analyze the report submitted by Justice Zora Singh regarding the sacrilege incidents. He said that after looking into the report minutely the state government would take action on its recommendations. Replying to another query, the Chief Minister said that state Congress Chief Captain Amarinder Singh was misleading the youth on issue of jobs. He said that during his tenure as Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had put blanket ban on the jobs. However, Mr. Badal said that now in the dream of getting Chief Minister’s chair again Captain was making every promise to youth adding that the youngsters were well aware of track record of Captain and they would not fell prey to it. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Cabinet Minister Mr. Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Chief Parliamentary Secretaries Sant Balbir Singh Ghunas and Babu Parkash Chand Garg, former Minister Mr. Gobind Singh Kanjhla, his Special Principal Secretary Dr. S Karunaraju and Deputy Commissioner Mr. Arshdeep Singh Thind.
