The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today said it was condemnable that someone like Manpreet Badal, who had first misled Punjabis by swearing to follow the ranks of the revolutionaries, was now reduced to the rank of a "chamcha" to get a toe hold in the Congress.In a statement here, SAD secretary and spokesman Dr Daljit Singh Cheema said Manpreet had by his actions yesterday proved that he was ready to demean himself to any extent T o win the favour of Punjab Congress President Capt Amarinder Singh. "What else can explain the downright humiliating and abject surrender of all ethics and morals by Manpreet in announcing that the Punjab Congress was being led by a clean Amarinder".Dr Cheema asked Manpreet to tell the people why he had never been able to see the clean in Amarinder earlier. "Is it because you have now decided to dye yourself in the Congress culture of chamchagiri? Has the Manpreet of the People's Party of Punjab days who used to swear by revolutionaries like Bhagat Singh become a mere chamcha?", the SAD leader asked.The SAD spokesman said it was also strange that Manpreet who was fond of quoting from the newspapers had not kept himself abreast with recent disclosures against Capt Amarinder. "
If you had you would have come to know that your clean leader and his family has stashed money looted from the people of Punjab abroad in foreign countries by opening accounts and trusts. It is unlikely you don't know this but your forgetfulness is pardonable as you have been reduced to the role cleaning up after Amarinder", Dr Cheema added.The spokesman said Manpreet's claims that the congress would march ahead with the clean image of Captain Amarinder instead of newly appointed incharge of Punjab Congress Asha Kumari, was also indicative of the fact that he was suffering from wilful amnesia. He said there was no other reason why he could forget Amarinder's role in the Ludhiana City Center scam, Amritsar Improvement Trust scam and Intranet scam besides accounts in foreign banks and trusts.Branding Manpreet Singh Badal as a rolling stone who had always worked against his own party, Dr Cheema said this was why he had been thrown out of the SAD. "This is why the entire leadership of the People's Party of Punjab (PPP) founded by him revolted against him and he was forced to join the Congress. In the Congress too he is destined to destroy the party in Punjab", the SAD leader added.Cautioning Manpreet Singh Badal to not overlook ethical principles in trying to prove his loyalty towards Captain Amarinder Singh, the SAD leader reminded him of his days as a cabinet minister in the Punjab government at which time he spoke in harsh tones about Captain Amarinder Singh and often put a question mark over the credentials of former Chief Minister.
