Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh today informed the House that power arrears of 1327 electricity consumers of Chhamb constituency migrants amounting to Rs. 1.62 crore were waived off by Government.Replying to a question by Mr. Krishan Lal, the Deputy Chief Minister said that in about 80 cases the amount has been shown in records as “to be waived off.” He said in this regard an inquiry has been ordered in the matter to look into the facts and circumstances of the case, where in arrears were waived off in case of some of the migrants and not in others. He said the inquiry report would be submitted by the Committee within 15 days.The Deputy Chief Minister said that Rs. one crore per district, per annum has been released during last two fiscals for improvement of HT/LT network. He said the said Rs. 1 crore per district is being released during current fiscal for improvement of HT/LT network.The Deputy Chief Minister said that the Department has submitted district wise DDUGJJY scheme for 21 districts which includes Chhamb constituency as well totaling to Rs. 1249.68 crore for J&K to monitoring committee Government of India, after the same were cleared and recommended by State Level Standing Committee (SLSC).
The Deputy Chief Minister said that Centre has sanctioned a total of Rs. 619.61 crore for the state including PMA charges of Rs. 3.08 crore. He said, however, as a special case, in principle approval has also been conveyed to the balance amount subject to the availability of funds.The Deputy Chief Minister said that DDUGJJY scheme for district Jammu has been sanctioned for Rs. 32.57 crore (including Chhamb constituency). He said under IPDS Rs. 52.23 crore has been proposed for Jammu which also includes Jurian and Khour areas. The Deputy Chief Minister said that Rs. 444.50 crore have been sanctioned under IPDS for strengthening of sub transmission and distribution networks in urban areas in the state. He said 86 towns under 12 circles includes Chhamb constituency as well have been identified in the state to be taken up under IPDS programme.
