Slamming the Congress leaders for shedding ‘crocodile tears’ on the emotive issue of Satluj Yamuna Link (SYL) canal, the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today said that no Congressman should forget that they were a part and parcel of this grave conspiracy to snatch the waters of state.Interacting with the media persons on the sidelines of Sangat Darshan program in Nakodar assembly segment here today, the Chief Minister reminded every Congress leader, who making hue and cry over this issue, that it was their Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi who laid the foundation of this canal to ruin the state. Likewise, he said that at that time every big or small Congress leader including the present state Congress Chief Captain Amarinder Singh had welcomed Mrs. Indira Gandhi to perform ground breaking ceremony for depriving Punjab of its share in water. Mr. Badal said that the Congress leaders have no moral right to question the integrity of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), which has waged relentless battle to oppose this move from day one.The Chief Minister said after ruining the state, now the Congress leaders were trying to mislead the people by indulging in political mimicking. He dared the Congress leaders to tell the people that why they remained mum when their high command was looting the rights of state. Mr. Badal categorically said that none of the Congressman could ever escape from the responsibility of committing this grave crime aimed at ruining the state. 

The Chief Minister said that he could for see the danger looming large on the state as both AAP and Congress were conniving with each other to deprive the Punjabis of every single drop of water. He said it was the bounden duty of every Punjabi to be ready for a struggle to save the waters of state. Mr. Badal said that he was fully committed to safeguard the interests of the state in every possible way.Coming down heavily on the Aam Aadmi Party leadership for misleading the people, the Chief Minister said that the state taken by the AAP government in Delhi on SYL issue during its hearing in the Apex court has clearly exposed that they were having an anti-Punjab mindset. He said that just to divert the attention of people the AAP leadership in the state was now raising some or other issue. “Most of its leaders are either fugitives or entertainers who are not having any concern with the state and their sole intention is to grab power in the state at any cost” added Mr. Badal.

Earlier at village Kang Saabu, the Chief Minister said realizing well that he could never form government in the state the state Congress Chief Captain Amarinder Singh was promising moon to everyone. He said that former Chief Minister was trying to replicate him and the most inaccessible 'Captain' was now sweating out in scorching heat in the hope of becoming the Chief Minister of state. However, Mr. Badal said that this dream of Captain could never be fulfilled as people of state were solidly with the SAD-BJP alliance. “The darbars of Captain are totally a futile exercise as Captain neither has the intention nor the will power to ensure welfare of people” he added.

Buoyed over the unprecedented success stories scripted by students of meritorious schools by cracking prestigious entrance exams, the Chief Minister said that these schools have opened doors of success for students of weaker sections. He said that the students from these schools have proved their mettle by scoring heights in entrance exam of prestigious institutes. Mr. Badal said that the success of these students have further strengthened the determination of SAD-BJP alliance government to impart quality education to students.Earlier addressing huge public gatherings in village Kang Saabu, Boparai, Shankar, Dhaliwal and others, the Chief Minister, while listing the major initiatives taken by the state government, said that due to concerted efforts of alliance government, Punjab was the today only power surplus state in the country. He further said that under various pro-poor and pro-people social security schemes the alliance government has decided to double the pensions given to people. Mr. Badal said that the state government has started first of its kind scheme to provide interest free crop loans worth Rs 50000 to the farmers. He further said that in another historic decision it has been decided that all the farmers would be provided a health insurance cover of Rs.50,000 and an insurance of Rs.5 lac in case of accidental death or incapacitation of head of family.Later, the Chief Minister inaugurated the 66KV Grid Sub Station at village Shamshabaad constructed at a cost of Rs 4 crore. This Sub-station would benefit several villages in the region by ensuring regular power supply to them.The Chief Minister was accompanied by Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Gurpratap Singh Wadala, his Joint Special Principal Secretary Mr. Kumar Amit, Deputy Commissioner Mr. KK Yadav, Deputy Inspector General of Police Mr. Rajinder Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Harmohan Singh, Chief Engineer (Distribution) North Zone Er. Davinder Singh Tiwana and Chief Engineer (Transmission System) Er. Sikander Singh
