Governor interacts with Camp Directors

On the concluding day of the 4 day Orientation and Training Programme organized by the Chief Executive Officer for all the Civil and Police Officers who have been appointed as Camp Directors to supervise Yatra Camps located at Nunwan, Chandanwari, Sheshnag, Panjtarni,  Sangam Down, Lower Holy Cave, Holy Cave,  Brari Marg, Domel and Baltal, Governor N.N. Vohra, Chairman of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), had an extensive interactive session with the 23 State Civil and Police officers who have been appointed as Camp Directors, Additional Camp Directors and Deputy Camp Directors to manage the Yatra Camps in the entire Shrine area.The Governor spoke about the important issues regarding Yatra management and urged the officers to remain alert and prompt in dealing with any exigency, particularly in dealing with various categories of medical emergencies.  He advised the officers to personally inspect each and every arrangement which is being made at the Camp placed under their charge and on the tracks falling within their jurisdiction. 

He directed them to particularly look after every aspect and convenience of the pilgrims, devoting particular attention to supply of safe drinking water, illumination and power, and the provision of satisfactory round the clock medical care facilities.The Governor exhorted the officers to maintain effective coordination with the Civil, J&K Police, Central Police, Army, Air Force, Fire Services, Heli-Operators and with all the concerned State Government departments and agencies for ensuring the smooth conduct of the Yatra. He also directed them to ensure enforcement of all prescribed regulations to secure the safety and security of the pilgrims, particularly if adverse weather conditions developed. Also, no plastic materials must be allowed to be used anywhere in the Yatra area.The Governor advised the officers to record their observations and suggestions during the entire Yatra period so that the feedback furnished by them could be used for the progressive betterment of the Yatra.Mr. P.K. Tripathi, CEO, informed the Governor that  in the past 4 days the Camp Directors and Additional Camp Directors had been briefed on all important aspects of their roles and responsibilities for Yatra 2016 and that all of them shall leave tomorrow and be in their Camps by 23rd June 2016 evening.

The Governor urged the Camp Directors to maintain round the clock contact with the Shrine Board Control Room and with the other Camps to ensure that any arising problem is dealt with without any delay whatsoever.In addition to their discussions with the SASB officers, the Camp Directors and Additional Camp Directors had interactive sessions with  Mr. S.K. Mishra, Director General Police (Co-Ordination); Mr. S. Gopal Reddy, Commandant General, SDRF; Mr. Dilbagh Singh, ADGP Security; Mr. L. Mohanti, ADGP Armed; Mr. Tariq Hussain, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal; Mr. Javed Mujtaba Gillani, IGP Kashmir; Mr. Imitaz Ismail Parray,  Senior Superintendent of Police Ganderbal; Mr. Rajinder Kumar Hak, Joint Director, Fire and Emergency Services; Dr. Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director Health Services, Kashmir; Mr. Riyaz Ahmad and Mr. Qazi Sarwar, Chief Executive Officers of Pahalgam and Sonamarg Development Authorities respectively; Mr. Kuldeep Dhar, IG CRPF; Mr. Sonam Lotus, Director IMD.Mr. P.K. Tripathi, CEO, SASB; Mr. Jitendra K. Singh, Additional CEO, SASB; Mr. Varinder Slathia, Mr. Parshotam Kumar Sharma, Mr. Pankaj K.  Anand, Dy. CEOs, SASB; Mr. R.K. Pandita, GM (Works); Mr. Jalid Riyaz Banday, GM (Sanitation), Yatra Camps; were among those present on the occasion.
