Police on Saturday foiled the protests march of Jammu and Kashmir Casual Daily Wagers Forum (JKCDF) and detained scores of ots members after they tried to march towards assembly to press the government for the fulfillment of their demands. The protesters wearing black dress assembled outside the Civil Secretariat and staged sit-in for more than half an hour.Sajad Ahamd Paray, president of Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department daily wagers told KNS that the government has miserably failed to fulfill their promises made with them.“We have been assured that our genuine demands of regularization will be fulfilled soon. However, all the promises made by the state dispensation are yet to be fulfilled,” he said.

While threatening to stage protest outside the residence of Finance Minister on June 21, Sajad said, “We will stage protest on June 21 if the government will not come up with the favorable decision for the daily wagers, casual labors and other related employees,” he said.Sajad appealed the opposition parties, separatist leaders and others forums to support them in this struggle. “We appeal all the leaders and parties to support us in this regard so that our genuine demands will be fulfilled soon,” he said.Meanwhile after staging sit-in, the protesters raised slogans like ‘we want justice’ and tried to march towards state assembly.However, police intercepted them and detained scores of its members.Sajad Paray told KNS that police detained at least 50 members were detained during the protest.
