Industries, Labour & Employment, Parliamentary Affairs and I&PR Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said that industrialization was important for economic empowerment and State Government was according priority to create infrastructure facilities in industrial areas of the state. Agnihotri was addressing a gathering at Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technology at Baddi in district Solan today.Earlier he inaugurated Li-Fi based radio broadcast for the university campus, launched Research Journals of School of Management and School of Pharmacy and awarded scholarships to girl students from economically weaker sections of the society under 'Betyion ki Bari' programme of the university. Li-Fi technique is a light wave based communication system developed by Baddi University. This can also work as a demand based radio communication system.  This technology has the potential of becoming an alternative for radio wave based technology. Baddi University was perhaps the first university to use Li-Fi technique.

Mukesh Agnihotri on the occasion said that special emphasis was being laid on creating basic infrastructure in Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagath (BBN) area. Rs. 100 crore was being spent on developing roads, parks, toilets and rain sheltesr in this industrial area. He said that the efforts were being made to connect this area with railway line and helipad was also constructed here.Industries Minister said that BBN was among the best industrial areas and 80 percent industries of the state were based at Baddi-Barotowal-Nalagrah area. This area had carved a niche for itself in pharmaceutical production and  35 percent medicines of Asia were being produced here. He exhorted the industrialists to maintain high quality standards of products.Mukesh Agnihotri said that a Rs. 150 crore tool room was being established in Baddi to facilitate industrialists and recently foundation stone of plastic engineering college was also laid here. The Skill Development Centre of area was also ready and trade center of Baddi was made functional. He said that a Skill Development Centre was being constructed in District Una by spending Rs. 25 crore.

Labour and Employment minister said that Baddi-Barotiwala- Nalagarh area was known as Education Hub of the state. He congratulated Baddi University for its research activities and hoped that institution will continue its efforts in future also. He said that present era was the era of research and universities should work in making research available for masses.Industries Minister said that Himachali products were known worldwide and State Government through its marketing initiatives was trying to make these products available everywhere. State government had invited industrial houses to invest in the state through Investment by Invitation, he added.Ram Kumar Chaudhary, MLA Doon, Shailesh Aggarwal President Baddi-Barotiwala Nalagarh Industrial Association, Pradeep Shrivastav, Chancellor Baddi University and Lalit Jain CEO BBNDA also spoke on the occasion.Prof. Shakti Kumar, VC while welcoming the chief guest detailed about the research activities of the university. Dean School of Management Prof. Gorge Thomas proposed vote of thanks.KD Shridhar, Member University Governing Body, Secretary Gaurav Jhunjhuuwala, President CII, HP Sanjay Khurana, representatives of the industries, teachers, students and other prominent person were present on the occasion.
