To generate awareness among the people about the importance of World Blood Donors Day, the District Hospital Doda today organized an awareness camp at New District Hospital Doda where hundreds of volunteers donated blood .District Development Commissioner Bhupinder Kumar was the chief guest on the occasion.Speaking on the occasion, DDC said that this day is celebrated to educate the people about the importance of blood donation for saving precious lives . He appealed people of the district to participate in such type of events in large numbers and donate blood voluntarily.DDC appreciated the initiative of District Hospital Doda and asked for regularly organizing such camps in tehsil headquarters of the district. He stressed for arranging awareness camps to motivate people for blood donation .
CMO informed that the theme of this year’s campaign is "Thank you for saving my life” and said that Transfusion of blood and blood products helps save millions of lives every year. It can help patients suffering from life-threatening conditions live longer and with higher quality of life and supports complex medical and surgical procedures. It also has an essential, life-saving role in maternal and prenatal care. Access to safe and sufficient blood and blood products can help reduce rates of death and disability due to severe bleeding during delivery and after childbirth, he added. Regular Blood donors were also felicitated on the occasion.CMO Dr. Kulbushan, CEO Mohd Ashraf Rather, CO 10 RR, CO 4 RR, CO CRPF, COJKAPF, Principal Degree College, Medical Superintendent DH and other officers of Health Department and District Administration were present in the camp.
