DDC chairs DLRC meet, emphasizes improvement in CD ratio

To review achievement of banks under Annual Credit Plan 2015-16 besides assessing the position of deposits, advances and CD ratio, a meeting of District Consultative Committee & District Level Review Committee (DCC/DLRC) for Jammu district was today convened by lead bank office, State Bank of India, Jammu under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Simrandeep Singh for the quarter ended March 2016.Lead District Manager (LDM) R.K Koul informed the meeting that bank deposits of the district have grown year over year from 4600 crore to 28429 crore (19.30%) and advances from 1805 crore to 9540 crore (23.34%). Besides, priority sector lending to the amount of Rs 3342.77 crore was made during the year registering an achievement of 49.30%.DDC expressed concern over the poor CD ratio in the district especially noting the low achievement in Education (8.63%) and Housing (21.12%) adding that these are the priority concerns for any individual and are essential for the development of the district. He instructed the banks to draw a monitor-able action plan for achieving the benchmarks timely.LDM was asked to closely monitor the conduct of awareness programmes in the identified Higher Secondary Schools and Polytechnics. He asked the concerned to focus on each individual segment of the society, understand their needs and plan for organizing these awareness camps accordingly.

The meeting also reviewed the progress made under various social security schemes viz. PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY with particular reference to the schemes adopted by the J&K Government including AASRA, Laadli Beti, State Marriage Assistance scheme and HUNAR.Referring to Center’s initiative of ensuring 100% coverage of farmers under KCC scheme, it was informed that SLBC has recently agreed upon a decision that every left out, rejected and returned case should be revisited by the agriculture department achieve the set target within the next three months.The committee also deliberated in detail the launch and implementation of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna Housing for All Mission.The need and importance of Financial Literacy and Credit Counseling (FLCC) centers, Financial Literacy Camps and SBI RSETI was reiterated in the meeting, highlighting their role in spreading financial education among various target groups besides promoting employment opportunities.

Relief Commissioner, Migrant Cell Jammu R K Pandita brought forth the problems being faced by the displaced Kashmiri population residing in migrant camps, especially in availing the benefits of many government sponsored schemes. He requested the concerned departments to organize awareness programmes at migrant camps so that they can be made aware of the procedure and formalities required to avail benefits of the schemes.DDC instructed the line departments to give due consideration to each case file and sponsor all eligible cases in a time bound manner.For the purpose, a subcommittee was constituted with ADDC as chairman, LDM as Convener and RBI, NABARD, SBI, JKB, PNB, JKGB, EDB, KVIB, KVIC & DIC as members to review the progress of such cases.The meeting was also attended by ADDC Anuradha Gupta, officials from RBI, NABARD, ACD, AC (Revenue), GM DIC, RM, RBO-II (SBI), all BDOs, district coordinators of JK Bank, PNB, JKGB, EDB & representatives from all other banks and district heads of line departments.
