Narendra Modi government gets thumbs up for tackling corruption

Two years into power, the Narendra Modi government has been rated as doing good work in tackling corruption by over 51 per cent respondents in an online survey.The survey -- 'Rate My Government' on the official website of Prime Minister of India -- had registered over 23,000 respondents till Tuesday evening.Around 51.7 per cent respondents gave five stars to the efforts of the government in controlling corruption, and another 22 per cent gave it a four-star rating.However, when it came to efforts in tackling black money, only 29 per cent respondents gave the government five stars, and another 23 per cent gave it four stars.The foreign policy of the BJP-led NDA government also appeared to be getting a thumbs up from the respondents, with more than 65 per cent giving it five stars.

The 'Make in India' campaign got five stars from 52 per cent respondents; 46 per cent gave five stars to improvement in ease of doing business; while the flagship 'Swachh Bharat' initiative got five stars from only 32 per cent respondents.For the government's efforts in improving quality of education, 34 per cent gave it five stars.The survey was launched as the Modi government completed two years in office. The deadline for the survey has been extended to June 10. It was earlier to end on June 5.The website also has a quiz where 20 questions have to be answered in five minutes, and the winners will get a chance to meet Prime Minister Modi.The survey and the quiz began on May 25.
