As we are aware, the ED has summoned Raninder Singh on 16th June in connection with FEMA violation case, brought to it’s notice by the Income Tax authorities. Income Tax authorities have initiated this action against Raninder Singh for lying under oath to the department, about trusts allegedly owned by him in British Virgin Islands.The tax department has found that Raninder Singh was the settler (donor) of the Jacaranda Trust UK and owner of Mulwala Holdings Limited, Limerlock International Limited and Allworth Venture Holdings Limited. The British Virgin authorities informed the tax department that the said business entities owned by Raninder Singh holds substantial financial assets, including bank accounts in HSBC, Geneva and properties in UK and Dubai.All these transactions, setting up of companies, purchase of assets in UK and Dubai are related to the year 2005, when his father Capt. Amarinder Singh was the Chief Minister, Punjab.
In other words, it is now amply clear that the family of Capt. Amarinder Singh parked black money in foreign shores, after “looting” the state of Punjab.It is pertinent to mention here, that investigations into the financial misdeeds of Capt. Amarinder Singh’s family were initiated by the Finance Ministry sometime in 2011, during the tenure of Dr. Manmohan Singh led Congress government at the centre. The alibi being adopted by Capt. Amarinder Singh that Sh. Arun Jaitely is unleashing political vendetta against him for his defeat in Amritsar Lok Sabha polls, is politically motivated, baseless and a ploy to hoodwink the people.AAP dares the Congress to clarify its political stance on extremely serious allegations of financial embezzlement and stashing of black money by the family of Capt. Amarinder Singh. AAP reminds the Congress party that when Bikram Majithia was summoned by the ED last year, it had raised a massive hue and cry to demand the resignation of the Revenue Minister through statewide protests and “Dharna’s”.
Will the Congress have the moral courage to demand similar action against its PPCC Chief, as charges against the family of Capt. Singh are much more serious in nature? Why is the Congress maintaining double standards over the issue of black money now?In the same breath, AAP questions the conspiracy of silence being maintained by the Badals and SAD, over such serious allegations against Capt. Amarinder Singh, aren’t they playing a friendly match?Therefore, keeping in view the gravity of documented proof of stashing black money in foreign countries and gross violations of FEMA by the family of Capt. Amarinder Singh, AAP demands his immediate resignation from the post of President PPCC. AAP also questions the stoic silence of Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi on the issue of stashing black money in Swiss banks by their Deputy Leader, as Congress leaves no opportunity to stall the proceedings of parliament on the burning issue of black money.
