The Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Syed Abid Rasheed, along with a team of officers, today visited Yatra transit camps at Mirbazar and Walnut Factory Qazigund and took stock of the arrangements being put in place for the smooth conduct of upcoming Annual Amarnathji Yatra.The DC took a detailed review of the arrangements put in place at the transit camps regarding availability of accommodation, uninterrupted electricity supply, drinking water supply, sanitation measures and adequate ration and availability of other essential commodities. He directed the concerned to keep stock of essential commodities at the transit camps well in advance.He instructed heads of all the concerned departments to maintain a close liaison to make the annual pilgrimage a success.The DC also took a detailed review of the security arrangements and security plans prepared for the ensuing Yatra. He directed the concerned security agencies to make fool proof and elaborate security arrangement on the routes leading to Amarnath cave so that no untoward incident takes place during the entire Yatra period.He also instructed the officers of traffic authority to formulate a separate traffic management plan for the Yatris without compromising on the general traffic movement in the district.The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by ADDC, SSP Anantnag, Commandants of CRPF Battalions, engineers of PHE, R&B and PDD, concerned Tehsildars, SHOs and SDPOs and officers from Tourism Department.
