Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura today inaugurated “Comedy Talent Hunt Show” at Sheikh-ul- Alam Hall Budgam organized by the District Police Budgam in collaboration with Mukhti Films.District Development Commissioner, Budgam Mir Altaf Ahmad, SSP Budgam, Mr. Fayaz Ahmad Lone, intellectuals, poets, artists, prominent citizens including Muntazir Mohi-ul- Din, Bashir Budgami, Mr. Rafiq Masoodi, representatives of Jammu and Kashmir Bank Limited, ARCO, Hotel Landmark, Trison City, Aqbal Azad and a good number of students were present on the occasion.Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that organizing of such shows provide a platform to the budding youth. He said that young generation of the State has an inherent talent which needs to be honed and given proper exposure so that they can compete at National and International levels and bring laurels to the State. He asked the organizers to organize such programmes in other parts of the district Budgam. He also asked the participants to work with dedication and hone their skill.
The Minister said that the former Chief Minister late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was a great statesman who had a vision for making the State of Jammu and Kashmir a model State where in the people would be provided with every possible support. He said that we have to carry forward the mission of the visionary leader.Responding to the demand for construction of Auditorium Hall at Budgam, Mr. Hanjura directed the DC Budgam to prepare Detailed Project Report (DPR) and submit the same to the concerned quarter for arrangement of funds.The Minister also highlighted the achievements of the present Government, saying that several welfare schemes including Beti Bachoo Beti Padoo and skill development programme have been launched for girl child and youth of the State.Earlier, SSP Budgam highlighted the importance of the Show.Later, the Minister distributed prizes and certificates among the participants adjudged first, second and third and runner-up.
