Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Culture, Tourism, Horticulture, Floriculture & Parks, Priya Sethi today said the initiatives of the NDA Govt for the development of people have started bearing fruits.Addressing a publicity cum awareness programme titled ‘Mera desh badal raha hai - Aagay bad raha hai’, she appreciated the efforts of the state administration to achieve the goals in centrally sponsored schemes. The programme was organized by Directorate of Field Publicity in coordination with Song & Drama Division, District Administration and other units of Ministry of Information & Broadcasting at Budgam.She said Budgam district has succeeded in increasing the sex ratio to a significant level of 967:1000 under ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ scheme while six other districts have been taken up under this programme to increase the sex ratio of girl child. Lauding the role of Directorate of Field Publicity and other Media Units of Ministry of Information & Broadcasting for creating awareness about various centrally sponsored schemes among the people at grass root level, she said that the initiative will definitely help in creating awareness among the general masses. She said that it is mandate of the media units of Ministry of Information & Broadcasting to revolutionize development through awareness in the country. During the function, Troupes of Song & Drama Division and school children presented theme based cultural programmes which was attended by a large number of Aasha workers and officials linked with the field assignments of the state government. MLC, Mr. Surinder Ambardar, Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Mir Altaf Ahmad, SSP Budgam, Mr. Fayaz Ahmad Lone and the representatives of different media units of Ministry of Information & Broadcasting were also present on the occasion.
