Kulwant Singh today assumed the charge as Vice Chairman of Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) in the presence of New and Renewable Energy Minister, Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia and Member Parliament, Mr. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa. Mr. Kulwant Singh who is son of deceased MLA Malkiat Singh Keetu, took the charge at the PEDA Bhawan at sector 33, Chandigarh.While congratulating Mr. Kulwant Singh for his new assignment, Mr. Bikram Singh Majitha said that the state of Punjab in a short span of time has emerged as a leading state in the renewable energy sector. He said that the work done by Punjab in the renewable energy sector has earned national and international accolades. He said that Prime Minister has given special award to the Punjab for the commendable work done by the Punjab State for producing energy through renewable energy sources besides power generation through traditional means. He praised the family of Mr. Kulwant Singh for being committed workers of the Shiromani Akali Dal. 

Remembering deceased MLA Mr. Malkiat Singh keetu, who is the father of Mr. Kulwant Singh, Mr. Majithia said that he was the true leader of the masses and the Shiromani Akali Dal would remain indebted towards the selfless contribution rendered by Mr. Keetu during his lifetime.Member Parliament, Mr. Sukdev Singh Dhindsa also showered high words of praise upon Mr. Kulwant Singh by saying that he is young and energetic leader of the Barnala area. He expressed hope that Mr. Kulwant would work with full sincerity and would take the PEDA towards newer heights. Mr. Kulwant Singh thanked Chief Minister Punjab, Mr. Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal for this new assignment and assures that he would do work with full sincerity and dedication.During this occasion Agriculture Minister, Jathedar Tota Singh, Lok Sabha Member, Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, Chief Parliamentary Secretary,  Sant Balvir Singh Ghunas and Senior Akali Leader, Mr. Darbara Singh Guru were also present.
