Vikar Rasool Wani demands equal distribution of funds in power sector

Highlighting the pick and choose of constituencies in allocation of funds in Power sector congress chief whip and MLA Banihal Vikar Rasool Wani alleged that present coalition government has failed to provide equal distribution of funds to the all constituencies of the state in general and Banihal constituency in particular.Vikar Rasool was speaking during the question hour in ongoing assembly session at Srinagar here today.He said that Banihal constituency specially the upper reaches of Pogal Paristan, Neel and Khari Mahu Mangith are the worst the worst victim of unscheduled power cuts results into the sufferings of general public of his assembly segment as the government has failed to start the work on sanctioned two receiving station at Khari and Ukerhaal area of Banihal despite of the availability of required grants in hand. He added that government is deliberately targeting constituencies represented by opposition MLA's so that people the people cannot take benefit of the schemes and projects sanctioned by previous government.

Vikar Rasool wani supplementary question seeks the attention of Incharge power minister and dy chief minister of the state Dr Nirmal Singh to expedite the work on two receiving stations in Banihal and start execution of works RGGVY phase 2nd the funds at the tune 103 crore are laying unspent from last two years which can cover the all uncovered habitations of Chenab valley.Responding to the questions raised by MLA Banihal Vikar Rasool Dy Chief Minister agreed that Rs 103 sanctioned in the previous government for Chenab valley are available at the disposal of power development department and tenders have been floated the allotment of which is expected in near future.He assured MLA Banihal that construction work on receiving Station Ukerhaal and khari will be shortly take hand. He further added government is formulating the comprehensive plan for improving the LT/HT network in the state. (KNS)
