Even after seven months of the killing of their son, family of Gowhar Nazir Dar is still awaiting justice and the now the parents have threatened to launch hunger strike to seek justice.Nazir Ahmad Dar, the father of Gowhar, told KNS that more than seven months have passed after his son was killed by CRPF, but the government has not given them the copy of the magisterial probe.“We have been seeking a copy of the report of the magisterial inquiry hat was conducted by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar. Neither the copy has been given to us nor any action has been taken against the CRPF omen involved into the killing of my son,” Dar told KNS.

21-year-old engineering student, Gowhar, was killed on November 7 last year in Zainakote in city outskirts hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi had addressed a rally at Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium. The Government had ordered a magisterial inquiry into the whole incident to probe the killing of the youth.“The inquiry officer has completed the probe. We have time and again sought a copy of the report, but the officials are not giving us a copy,” he said.He said that media has reported about the probe and quoted from the report that Gowhar was “killed by CRPF who shot him in his head”. “When the media can get the report, why are the officials denying us the same,” he said.He said that the report had been submitted to the Home Department in January.“Still no action has been taken against the CRPF men involved in the killing,” he said.Dar said that they family will launch a hunger strike if the government fails to give them a copy of the report and does not start action into the probe. The family has appealed the chief minister for justice. (KNS)
