Seeking rationalization of pay scales, the employees of PHE department Monday staged a protest here alleging their counterparts in Jammu have been granted the benefit of rationalization of pay scales but “we in Kashmir have been discriminated against.” The employees under the banner of All Kashmir PHE Employees’ Federation led by Chairman G.A.Nath carrying placards and banners said that the PHE employees in Kashmir have been awaiting rationalization since 1994. “We have been agitating this demand for last more than two decades yet the government has taken no step to address our grievance,” the protesting employees said adding that if their demand is not met, they will start an organized agitation.
