Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry & Fisheries, Abdul Gani Kohli today informed that the government has sanctioned Kejai (Padder) fisheries farm but the project could not be completed due to litigation.Replying to a question by Sajad Ahmed Kichloo, the Minister informed the House that the government started land acquisition process of 23 Kanals and 16 marlas in 2007-08 for which compensation amounting to Rs 27.64 lakh has been paid in full but the land could not be taken over because the matter is held up due to litigation.The Minister further informed that an amount of Rs 22.51 lakh has been placed at the disposal of PWD (R&B) Division Kishtwar, which is the executing agency, for construction work but the work could not be executed as the matter is sub-Judice. Mr. Kohli informed that the department released Rs 2.18 lakh during last fiscal for land compensation of Trout Rearing Unit Padder and Rs 6.36 lakh for construction of the unit.The Minister informed that Rs 10.063 lakh have been released as land compensation for acquiring 6 Kanals of land for the construction of Trout rearing Unit Sigdi against a final full amount of Rs 16.34 lakh needed for the project. He informed that the government has released Rs 5 lakh to the executing agency PWD (R&B) Division Chatroo for which land stands taken over and the tendering process for execution of work is under progress.Saif-ud-Din Bhat raised supplementary to a question.
