DDC Samba convenes DLRC meet

A meeting of bankers and District Officers was held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Samba, Sheetal Nanda to review the progress of banks and various departments   in key areas relating to Deposits, Advances and Priority sector lending for the quarter ending March 2016.The Lead Bank Manager, Veerji Koul gave a detailed account of the performance of banks during the quarter under Priority sectors, deposits and advances. It was informed that the deposit and advances of banks as on ending March 2016 stood at 26789 lacs and 148150 lacs respectively, thus achieving a CD ratio of 55.35%. Further, District has achieved 76.26% of the total Annual Credit Plan up to quarter ending March for the year 2015-16.The house was informed that against the bench mark of 40% under priority sector advances, the banks have comfortably achieved 63.49% as on ending March 2016. The achievement under advances to Women beneficiaries was 4.44% against national goal of 5%.Also, under the Prime Minister Social Security Schemes PMJDY, PMSBY and PMJJBY 78385, 28952 and 10517 accounts have been opened respectively.

The DDC while reviewing the progress directed to organize Tehsil wise awareness cum facilitation camps for opening new bank accounts and completing formalities for government schemes. She reiterated that no one should be left out due to non-possession of Bank Account and Aadhaar card. She directed that RBI guidelines must be followed for disbursing advances under priority sectors. She also directed the departments to send their cases through district coordinator of banks and fixed responsibility on departments to track their cases with banks and asked them to make sure that their representatives participate in Block Level Banking Committee.DDM NABARD, Surinder Singh gave a detailed view about the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, a crop insurance scheme and ‘Stand Up India Scheme’ for financing SC/ST and Women Entrepreneurs.
